That's Bullshit, But I Believe It

Sometimes I post mediocre photoshops, mostly I reblog stuff. I don't really post about them, but writing and drawing are hobbies of mine. I don't tag spoilers, so beware.

Another #paleostream sketch!

Laidleria, one of the goofiest temnospondyls I know. Flat triangular head, equally flat, osteoderm covered body and very short limbs.

Allow me to elucidate, @a-sour-nectarine

When most people “roll their eyes”, they flick their eyes directly upward, usually as far as they comfortably go, then resume looking normally.

When someone who learned the phrase before the behavior does it, they usually go in a circular (ish) motion. Since most eye movements are lines, it’s usually pretty triangular: the key points are usually a diagonal up one way, then to the far other side, then to a diagonal low the first way. Thus, the eyes basically make a loop, so they “rolled”.

I’ve found that when people who learned the up-down way first try the circular motion, they might risk motion sickness, so experiment carefully.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN MOST PEOPLE JUST LOOK UP

mariano-m asked:

Knowing that you absolutely do not accept requests in any circumstance, do you have any facts about Mexico?

facts-i-just-made-up:

Again, I WILL NOT do requests such as this Mexico prompt EVER.

Facts about Mexico:

  • Mexico is by far the largest country in Mexico.
  • Mexico has a rich history of artists and authors such as Frida Kahlo, Ernest Hemingway, and Yukio Mishima.
  • Mexico’s name is French for “The Land Where They Speak Ultra-French,” which is an antiquated term for Spanish.
  • Mexico once took up a large portion of Pangaea, and as such still has colonies in Australia, Russia, and Thaumasia.
  • Mexico has served as the filming backdrop for all three productions of Frank Herbert’s Dune, thanks to its many dunes, and also 5000 meter sandworms.
  • Mexico, like Egypt, has many pyramids. This is proof of the existence of Atlantis, and has nothing to do with the fact that triangular piles of rocks tend to last longer than other structures.
  • Mexico has a mountain range with 60,000% more gold than any other place on Earth of equal size. Not to be confused with El Dorado in South America, this mountain range has yet to inspire any DreamWorks animated films, and is thus considered worthless financially.
  • Gambling is illegal in Mexico due to the Mexican Casino Wars of 1917. They began when a new casino called “La Noche Estrellada” broke ground next to one of the country’s most popular elder casinos, “El Grito.” The owners of El Grito tried to run the smaller casino out of business by sending expert gamblers in to win at poker, specifically Ecatepec Hold ‘Em. Unfortunately for El Grito, the play only resulted in record attendance at La Noche, which retaliated by letting cheaters go free so long as they agreed to cheat only at El Grito. The feud escalated and reached its height in October, when La Noche launched ICBMs at El Grito’s enemies in Russia, knowing the counter-strike would destroy its rival nearby. Russia thankfully didn’t notice the strike because it was busy with a revolution, and also “ICBM” in 1917 stood for Irritable-Constipated-Bull-Moose. The Mexican government noticed however and intervened, banning both casinos, and gambling, and also buildings over 3 floors tall with fewer than four emergency exits, though this last bit was a rider amendment and is not relevant to this factoid.
  • If Mexico were a dress, it would be green.
